The memorial consists of an obelisk with five concrete panels, symbolizing the five branches of the military; a flag panel entryway; and, a bridge. Each element was cast on site using casting beds and wood formwork, and were erected in less than three days.

The 2015 World of Concrete marks the debut of the Con-E-Co Lo-Pro 327S mobile batch plant, achieving what company engineers note is a new level of performance. A compact, self-erecting and self-contained model, it features an in-truss dust control system, weighed water batcher, and the Lo-Pro’s blending cement batcher and live-bottom aggregate batcher.
A set of nine Chromix Admixtures for Color-Conditioned Concrete powder pigments were developed to complement the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management’s Standard Environmental Colors guide. The Naturescapes integral concrete pigments are specifically designed to visually recede into the surroundings by reflecting the darker, more recessive color schemes of native soils or vegetation.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Fontaine Modification Vocational Services has partnered with Simard Suspensions to install and distribute the Canadian manufacturer’s patented AMS twin-steer front suspension products in the United States and Mexico. Fontaine is the first post-production installer to effect a long-term arrangement with Simard, whose tandem steering components can significantly increase a vehicle’s load capacity without impacting maneuverability.
