Actuant integrates precision Sure-Lock, Hayes Industries
Menomonee Falls, Wis.-based Actuant Corp. has announced Precision-Hayes International, combining two businesses with global reach and significant brand recognition, plus reinforced concrete construction and energy infrastructure market presence. The move completes an integration of Sugar Land, Texas-based Hayes Industries, which Actuant acquired in 2014, eyeing synergy with its Precision Sure-Lock business.
IronPlanet, Cat auction pinpoint synergies in pending merger
IronPlanet, a leading online marketplace for buying and selling used heavy equipment and trucks, and Associated Auction Services LLC, an alliance of Caterpillar Inc. and a group of its dealers operating as Cat Auction Services, anticipate finalizing a merger agreement—announced late last year—during the first quarter. The combined business will afford used heavy construction equipment buyers and sellers a unique auction experience, officials note, backed by unmatched technology and services.

Parking facility groups team with certification body behind LEED
Recognizing the importance of sustainable parking facilities and practices to the sustainable community development, the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI), the certification body for the U.S. Green Building Council’s global LEED green building rating system, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Parking Institute (IPI), the world’s largest parking association, and the Green Parking Council (GPC).

Dallas-based cement, aggregate and ready mixed producer Eagle Materials Inc. has appointed Michael Haack to chief operating officer, a post created in response to the company’s continued strategic expansion in construction and energy-related markets. He joins Eagle from Halliburton Energy Services, where over a 17-year career he assumed key operating roles, most recently managing global operations for Sperry Drilling, a multi-billion dollar division serving Halliburton operations in every major global oil and gas market. Haack earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Rice University, and holds a Master of Science degree from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University, both in Industrial Engineering.
