The first of Cummins Emissions Solutions’ next generation of ultra-high efficiency aftertreatment systems will debut at the Mid America Trucking Show, March 26-28 in Louisville, Ky. The EcoFit Single Module is designed to be upwards of 60 percent smaller and 40 percent lighter than the EPA 2013 solution it succeeds.

Fontaine extends Simard twin-steer suspension availability across industry

Charlotte, N.C.-based Fontaine Modification Vocational Services has partnered with Simard Suspensions to install and distribute the Canadian manufacturer’s patented AMS twin-steer front suspension products in the United States and Mexico. Fontaine is the first post-production installer to effect a long-term arrangement with Simard, whose tandem steering components can significantly increase a vehicle’s load capacity without impacting maneuverability.

Caterpillar turns to set-forward axle model

Caterpillar has made initial deliveries and commenced full production of its second heavy-duty truck, the CT681, first shown at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2014. The set-forward axle model is a companion to the CT660, a set-back axle workhorse whose ConExpo-Con/Agg 2011 debut served as the company’s Class 8 on/off-highway truck series gateway.
