To recognize the recently proclaimed Concrete Industry Day, American Concrete Pavement Association-Colorado/Wyoming Chapter, American Concrete Pipe Association and Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Association members hosted legislators and staff late last month for a BBQ picnic lunch on the Colorado State Capitol grounds in Denver. In addition to government outreach, the associations teamed to raise awareness of the industry’s key link to economic growth and sustainable development practices in the state.

Allen Hamblen is 2015 National Ready Mixed Concrete Association Chairman

For the last two or three years, economic forecasts have indicated that things are looking quite promising for the construction industry in general, and the concrete industry specifically, with demand for product increasing year-after-year for at least the next decade. In terms of both product and information, the ready mixed industry could not be more prepared, according to National Ready Mixed Concrete Association Chairman Allen Hamblen, president & CEO of CalPortland Co.
