The National Precast Concrete Association is promoting the inaugural Precast Days as an event where producer members can provide engineers, specifiers, students, professors, and the community at large with a personal, up-close look at their operations. NPCA has set up a portal, www.precast.org/precastdays, through which members can choose a plant tour date during the last two weeks of October. The NPCA Board has approved funding to provide national marketing support for the event, including an extensive campaign in business-to-business publications, along with promotion in social media channels.

He joined the firm as an intern and has served as a project manager, chief estimator, and, most recently, senior vice president. McHugh Construction officials cite his industry-leading engineering, technical, and management skills, as evidenced in some of the most expensive, complex and high profile projects in Chicago. Topping that list is the 1,143-ft. Trump International Hotel and Tower, which was North America’s tallest reinforced concrete building from 2007-2014.

Concrete Contractors revise Safety Manual, Management Plan

The American Society of Concrete Contractors has recently updated its Safety Manual and Safety Management Plan to reflect changes in Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and concrete construction practices. With ASCC Safety & Risk Management Council (SRMC) oversight, the programs were written by and for concrete contractors with the goal of helping the industry as a whole.

DCC befits Colorado Veterans Monument

Volunteer members of the American Society of Concrete Contractors’ Decorative Concrete Council traveled to the Rocky Mountains to place and finish a decorative concrete slab for the Ken Caryl Veterans Monument, outside Denver. The monument is being built to commemorate veterans as well as those on active duty and in the reserves in all U.S. Armed Forces branches.
