The National Precast Concrete Association is promoting the inaugural Precast Days as an event where producer members can provide engineers, specifiers, students, professors, and the community at large with a personal, up-close look at their operations. Contractors affirm stand on air measurement in non-AE mixes

The latest ASCC position statement, “Measuring Air Content in Non-Air-Entrained Concrete,” conveys contractors’ point of view for architects, engineers, owners and others. The document explains that while air content is reported in the mix design submitted for air-entrained concrete and measured in the field for compliance, air content measurements are rarely specified or measured for non-air-entrained concrete.

Concrete Pumping Association of Canada is now operating as an American Concrete Pumping Association chapter, but maintaining the CPAC name. A merger will give members from Canada a dedicated forum while continuing to benefit from ACPA’s strong safety, training and concrete pump operator certification program. It creates what ACPA Executive Director Christi Collins calls “synergy and alignment on both sides of the border as we advocate and lobby for shared resources for the greater concrete pumping community.” Concrete pumpers in the United States and Canada share many issues, including those tied to safety, workforce development and promotion, she adds.
