The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute has named Robert Risser its new president. He joins the group with 20-plus years’ of executive association management experience, including nearly a decade as president and CEO of the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute in Schaumburg, Ill., and succeeds James Toscas, who left PCI in late-2014 to lead the Portland Cement Association.
Aggregate Industries US, Northeast Region recently hosted an International Rescue Dog Organization (IRO) Rubble Trial at its Littleton, Mass., K-9 testing facility. Four teams competed at two different levels (RH-T-A and RH-T-B), which involved the rescue of two and three victims within 20 minutes and 30 minutes, respectively, in a simulated rubble pile.
The board of AltusGroup, Inc.—Bethlehem, Pa.-based proprietor of CarbonCast architectural and structure precast concrete—has appointed Oldcastle Precast Building Systems’ Ron Jankowski to a two-year term as chairman. A member of the Oldcastle Precast business development team, he has served as AltusGroup secretary, Mid-Atlantic Precast Association president and Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute Total Precast Committee chair.
