XL Specialized Trailers | 140 HDE 13-Axle Trailer
Rated at 140,000 lb. capacity overall, the XL 140 Hydraulic Detachable Extendable (HDE) model can handle large machinery or commercial freight of all sizes. With its low rear deck height of 28 inches, it can haul freight normally seen on a step deck trailer, but with the added efficiency of a hydraulic neck. The 13-axle unit includes a three-axle trailer, three-axle jeep, and three-axle power booster. The XL classic-style hydraulic gooseneck is 13-ft., 8-in. long and includes a 52-in. fifth wheel height with seven ride height positions, as well as a 9-ft., 9-in. flip neck for the three-axle jeep.

Cummins Emissions Solutions | EcoFit Single Module
The first of the company’s next generation of ultra-high efficiency aftertreatment systems is designed to be upwards of 60 percent smaller and 40 percent lighter than the EPA 2013 solution it succeeds. EcoFit Single Module’s compact size also enables better heat management and retention for improved fuel economy capability, Cummins engineers note, while a simple single-pass exhaust flow design delivers low back pressure.
Freightliner Trucks | 122SD Upgrades
The flagship of the manufacture’s severe duty line of vocational trucks, the 122SD suits specialty/heavy-haul, cane and oversized loads, along with mixers and dumps. New options announced at the 2015 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis are best suited for severe terrain and off-road applications: oil pan skid plates; 12-in. frame rails; threaded front suspension spring pins and bushing; and, heavy-duty bolted cross-members. Factory-installed front-bumper mud flaps and fog lights with rock guards are also available.

U.S. Concrete completes exit from precast production

The U.S. Concrete Precast Group wind down is a done deal with the unloading of a Middleburg, Pa., architectural plant, buyer and sum undisclosed. The move caps a strategy U.S. Concrete effected nearly three years ago with the sale of its northern and southern California precast operations, followed by a Phoenix site—Oldcastle Precast and Jensen Precast, respectively, the suitors in the transactions, totaling about $25 million.
