DuBrook, Colonial bring U.S. Concrete Atlantic businesses six plants, 80 mixers

U.S. Concrete has closed its third and fourth deals of 2015, capping May by acquiring the assets of DuBrook Concrete Inc., Chantilly, Va., and Colonial Concrete Co., Newark, N.J. With three ready mixed plants and a 42-mixer fleet in northern Virginia, DuBrook is strategic to Superior Concrete Materials, U.S. Concrete’s long-held Washington, D.C. business. The Colonial transaction adds three sites and about 40 mixers to the New Jersey flagship, Eastern Concrete Materials.

Two months after entering the Texas market for volumetric mixer-delivered concrete through a deal for Custom-Crete, U.S. Concrete Inc. subsidiary Redi-Mix LLC bolted on the fleet and sites of Scofield Construction Services, LLC and Mobile-Crete of South Texas, LLC. Operated collectively as Mobile-Crete, assets acquired include five volumetric ready-mixed concrete facilities and 47 mixers servicing Austin, San Antonio, and south Texas markets. They join Custom-Crete’s 60 volumetric mixers and 11 plants Redi-Mix took over in October, netting site-mixed production in Austin, San Antonio and Dallas/Ft. Worth.

Eastern Concrete grows New York City presence in Diamond plant, fleet deal

U.S. Concrete has expanded its metro New York-New Jersey ready mixed and aggregate business, Eastern Concrete Materials, acquiring the production assets of Staten Island’s Diamond Concrete, Inc. The one-plant, 24-mixer truck deal extends the Eastern Concrete footprint to the New York City borough’s east side, where commercial and residential building are projected to increase in the coming years.
