Terex Materials Processing has acquired bulk material handling equipment manufacturer MARCO, credited with developing the tubular-truss conveyor frame. At the heart of a transaction with St. Louis-based Continental Manufacturing Co. is a 100,000-sq.-ft. MARCO factory and office in Mt. Vernon, Mo., where Terex MP plans to add mobile conveying equipment capacity. The 15-acre site offers a central and local distribution hub in North America, while also diversifying Terex MP’s manufacturing footprint and providing access to an additional labor pool. The company will also assume responsibility for a St. Louis area MARCO sales and engineering office.

“This acquisition supports Terex MP’s growth strategy to expand our offering in the bulk material handling industries with products that complement the existing portfolio,” says Terex MP Crushing and Screening Division Vice President and Managing Director Pat Brian. “Tubular-truss conveyor frames offer several benefits—they are hardwearing, easily re-configured and can withstand pressures of moving without bending. MARCO also produces equipment sold into the concrete industry, which will also help to expand our presence in this market.”

The business will be part of a Terex MP division that includes Finlay, EvoQuip, Powerscreen and ProStack brands. Terex MP likewise encompasses Advance and ProAll front discharge and volumetric concrete mixer trucks, along with Bid-Well concrete paving equipment.
