Stair safety treads, tape

SuperGrit two-stage safety nosings and treads provide traction on interior or exterior stairs. Suited to new concrete or steel pan filled stairs, they are available in 11 standard colors or with photoluminescent Niteglow treads. SuperGrit treads feature a heat treated, corrosion resistant, extruded aluminum base with a satin lacquered finish for a durable, but aesthetic appearance. Two-stage assembly allows a wood insert to be used during the construction stage, then finished with anti-slip nosing when the building is turned over.

SuperGrit meets NYC Local Law 26 and complies with 2015 IBC and IFC editions, and is equal to heavy pedestrian traffic, indoors or out. Corrosion resistant extruded aluminum substrate and a nearly diamond-hard aluminum oxide filler assures long tread life. Bright, long-lasting epoxy is free of hazardous and radioactive substances, and extends uniformly throughout the filler. High aluminum oxide abrasive content provides traction and long service life. The nosings and treads are available in up to 8-ft. lengths.

Separately, the manufacturer has announced Flex-Tred, an anti-slip tape augmenting safety on steps, walkways, docks, ramps, aisles, entrances, and other outdoor or indoor environments. Easily installed on clean, dry, smooth surfaces, it imparts a higher coefficient of friction on the applied surface, whether wet or dry, reducing slip or fall risks. The tape bends over sharp 90-degree angles without fracture and can be bent repeatedly without bond cracking or failure.

Available in 60-ft. rolls from ¾- to 24-in. wide and various colors, including fluorescents and Niteglow Glow in the Dark. — Wooster Products, Wooster, Ohio, 800/321-4936; www.wooster-products.com
