Build with Strength prepares Concrete Credentials Podcast Season 2

Concrete Credentials, a podcast by the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association plus its affiliated Build with Strength and Pave Ahead coalitions, is set for a second season in early 2021, following a July 2020 launch. Hosted by NRMCA Executive Vice President Gregg Lewis, AIA, LEED AP, the series has featured experts from design, development and construction sectors in an effort to educate listeners on the benefits of utilizing concrete.

The first season saw guests highlight the sustainability of concrete. That theme dovetails the Build with Strength coalition’s support of the Architecture 2030 Challenge for Products, adopters of which commit to reducing the embodied carbon footprint of their projects by 50 percent over a 20-year window beginning in 2011. The Season 1 finale features Warren County (Ky.) Schools Director of Facilities Mike Wilson, who has led the selection of concrete solutions for new construction, emphasizing specifications equating to net-zero environmental impact.

“We’ve experienced a significant amount of support and feedback on the Concrete Credentials podcast. We are hoping to continue this momentum with Season 2 and believe that the industry will continue to support it,” says NRMCA President Michael Philipps. “So far we’ve engaged in some tough and enlightening conversations about where the industry is currently and what the future holds. Concrete Credentials is a great tool for any professional in the building and design fields and we look forward to growth in Season 2.” The new season will feature guests from design, insurance, environment, academia, housing, and government sectors, he adds, especially those who have unique perspectives on concrete uses and value.

Concrete Credentials can be found on the Apple Podcast App, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcast and other major podcast streaming apps. It is also available for streaming at buildwithstrength.com/concrete-credentials.
