A recent agreement positions Wisconsin-based Elematic Inc. and other units of Finland’s Elematic Oyj to offer Eurobend GmbH reinforcement fabrication machinery as part of precast plant packages. Cooperation between the companies helps guarantee high quality results for concrete operations worldwide, Elematic officials note.
|Elematic offers three levels of plant production: Semi, for easy start up and limited product range or single project contract; Pro, for medium capacity of different types of products; and, Edge, for precasters seeking high capacity, wide product range, and advanced automation. Eurobend has reinforcing fabrication equipment matching each, including a) the Pro-suited straight-bar-fed flexible mesh welding line, or a fully automatic, coil-fed machine version (top) for more demanding precast operations, together with a flexible multi-line rotor straightening and cutting machine, an advanced rebar bender version and a shear line for processing larger diameters of straight bars; and, b) the Edge-ready high capacity package (left) with a flexible or high output, coil-fed mesh welding line, flexible multi-line rotor straightening and cutting machine, advanced rebar bender, and shear line for processing large diameter straight bars.|
Eurobend manufactures a range of wire or rebar processing, plus welding equipment, covering every precast application. Its portfolio of 100-plus machine types includes fully automated and electronically controlled models for the straightening, cutting and bending of all types of steel wire or bar, along with mesh welding machines. Eurobend offerings follow a modular template, engineers note, where the degree of machinery automation can be increased by adding more modules.
Similarly, Elematic has a wide portfolio of precast plant solutions, production lines, single machines, related services and knowledge network covering all aspects of structural member or building component design and fabrication. “We have packaged our precast production line offering into three technology levels—Semi, Pro and Edge—where capacity and automation levels differ,” says Elematic Technical Director Lassi Järvinen. “Together with Eurobend we can offer automation levels that best meet the needs of a particular factory.”
The most basic technology level ensures that getting started with precast production is easy. In time, if more capacity is required, the level of automation can be increased. The Elematic and Eurobend equipment offering is a strong combination for a successful precast operation, regardless of the size and geographic location of the company, Järvinen notes.
“Eurobend [is] a very innovative developer of rebar processing and welding machinery lines with a portfolio that perfectly fits for our precast production lines,” affirms Elematic CEO Mats Jungar.
The Elematic and Eurobend collaboration serves as a quality guarantee to precasters the world over, company officials contend. “Elematic is one of the top brands in the precast field worldwide. Their expertise and quality product lines are the perfect match to our innovative equipment. Basically, we provide what the market has been looking for: a synergy between the two leading manufacturers in the precast and construction business sector,” observes Isabel Protopapa, managing director of Germany’s Eurobend.
“Precast is one of the most demanding area[s] of the construction business. To be successful, you need to provide excellent quality and craftsmanship together with reliable, trouble-free operation,” adds Eurobend President Anthony Anagnos. “We strongly believe that the cooperation between Elematic and Eurobend will provide all that to every precast operation, regardless of size, region or continent.” — Elematic Inc., Brookfield, Wis., 262/798-9777, www.elematic.com; Eurobend GmbH, Nuremburg; U.S. Operations Manager Stefan Kavvadas, [email protected]; +49 911 94 98 980
