More than 300 concrete pipe professionals from across North America will gather March 3-6 in Orlando for the 2015 ACPA Pipe School, offering participants the opportunity to learn best practices in production, quality, sales and marketing, safety and engineering design, and visit Rinker and Hanson Pipe & Precast plants in Apopka and Winter Haven, Fla., respectively.
“Our Pipe Schools have long been among the most popular and valuable programs the ACPA provides, and each year we find ways to make the week even more rewarding for our attendees,” says President Matt Childs. “This year’s theme, ‘Concrete First,’ reinforces our industry’s role in producing the best products in the market, and is designed to unify us behind our common purpose of selling more concrete pipe and box culverts.”
Among 2015 Pipe School highlights are a) a new Production & Management Accreditation Program, consisting of six hours of concentrated training in Reinforcement Manufacturing, Vibrated Dry Cast Production, Packerhead Production, Safety and Performance Management disciplines; b) panel discussion examining departments of transportation criteria for choosing between competing pipe products; c) Post Installation Inspection Demonstration offering up-close observations of concrete and flexible pipe installations; d) discussion of Accelerated Precast Construction and its impact on the future; and, e) presentation of best-in-class safety practices from 2015 ACPA Chairman’s Safety Awards finalists. Attendees can also become Qcast accredited by attending the Quality School track and passing the exam.
“This year’s Pipe School is jam-packed with invaluable opportunities for concrete pipe professionals to dramatically upgrade their knowledge, skills and accreditations, while networking with leaders and peers from across the industry,” affirms 2014 ACPA Chairman Rick Traylor (Rinker Materials-Concrete Pipe Division/Cemex).
The 2015 ACPA Pipe School will be held at the Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort, dovetailing the ACPA-sponsored The Precast Show, March 5-7 at the Orange County Convention Center. Registration is $899 for ACPA members, $1,699 for nonmembers. Registration, schedules and additional information can be obtained here.
