Atlanta-based packaged concrete giant Quikrete Cos. has closed on Lafarge North America’s Quality Pavement Repair business, including QPR and RoadShop-branded bagged and bulk asphalt products, plus companion tools. QPR produces high performance cold mix asphalt for pothole and roadway repair throughout the U.S. and Canada. It sells packaged product through Lowe’s home improvement stores and bulk material through a distribution network serving public and private customers.
A merger and acquisition advisory unit of PNC Financial Services Group, Harris Williams represented Lafarge North America parent, Paris-based Lafarge Group, in the transaction. QPR-Quikrete followed by one month the Harris Williams-guided sale of Lafarge’s Atlantic Canada asphalt production and paving assets to the Municipal Group. The firm also advised Silver State Materials LLC principals in the April 2008 sale of their Las Vegas ready mixed operations to California Portland Cement Co.
