Accepting a Construction Innovation Forum NOVA Award for the Table Lifting System (TLS) on behalf of Walter Holawe, Konrad Schiefer, and Dietmar Wagner Û the primary innovators Û and Doka USA are (left to right) Executive Vice President James Hughes III; Michael Schaeffer, head of U.S. Product Management; and, Chief Executive Officer Andrew Mair. The TLS was developed through a collaborative effort between Doka Austria and its partner company in Germany with the intent of reducing labor costs and safely increasing production times.
The TLS is an electric-powered lifting platform that allows pre-assembled Dokamatic table formwork to be cycled between floors without the need for a crane. Adaptable to any building for use from the ground floor up, the TLS attaches to the previously cast slab with two embedded anchors and cantilevers from the structure as a mechanical outrigger platform. Since the TLS is attached to the building at all times, product developers note, it is an extremely safe system designed for use in high winds up to 45 mph.
