The U.S. Concrete Precast Group wind down is a done deal with the unloading of a Middleburg, Pa., architectural plant, buyer and sum undisclosed. The move caps a strategy U.S. Concrete effected nearly three years ago with the sale of its northern and southern California precast operations, followed by a Phoenix site—Oldcastle Precast and Jensen Precast, respectively, the suitors in the transactions, totaling about $25 million.

Through Texas subsidiary Redi-Mix LLC, U.S. Concrete has acquired the assets of Custom-Crete—61 volumetric mixers and 11 concrete plants serving Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio markets—from Oldcastle Architectural Inc. The mid-October transaction marks a rare U.S. asset disposal for Oldcastle parent, CRH Plc.

Public trading of U.S. Concrete shares resumed February 1 as NASDAQ Stock Market LLC approved the company’s application for the relisting of its common stock, with USCR succeeding a prior RMIX symbol. The relisting “will allow our shares to be held by a broader range of investors and facilitates increased shareholder liquidity,” notes U.S. Concrete CEO Michael Harlan. “[It] also provides greater visibility within the investment community and reflects the significant financial progress we have achieved as part of our effort to build shareholder value.”
