Cresset formulates premium, petroleum-free release agent for rubber molds

Recognizing ornamental and architectural concrete producers’ growing market opportunities, coupled with traditional quality control factors attending rubber molds, Cresset Chemical has introduced Latex Platinum Mold Release, billing it as a safe, reliable alternative to rubbing alcohol and castor oil blends. A next-generation technology, water-based formula allows Latex Platinum to be applied in a thin layer—reducing product usage and facilitating easy release of concrete pieces while holding intricate details.

Latex Platinum tackles color, demolding and other quality control issues associated with traditional release agents and rubber molds.

The agent effectively protects the mold surface while extending mold life. It works with all concrete mixes, is safe to use with coloring agents and most admixtures, and will not stain or discolor the concrete. Additionally, Latex Platinum does not contain silicones or waxes that can interfere with painting, staining or sealing finished concrete products. The agent is pre-mixed and available in 5-gal. pails, 55-gal. drums or 275-gal. MegaPak totes. — Cresset Chemical Co., Weston, Ohio, 800/367-2020; www.cresset.com
