SRM Concrete has significantly extended its Ohio market footprint with a deal involving one block and 11 ready mixed plants, plus two aggregate docks, from R.W. Sidley Inc., based in Painesville. Concurrently, SRM announced an Elyria Concrete Inc. asset deal netting a ready mixed plant in Castalia, Ohio. The transactions position the producer with more than 25 ready mixed plants in the Buckeye State and follow by three months a deal for Cleveland’s HGE Concrete Supply.
Separately, SRM Concrete has acquired Cheboygan Cement Products, with ready mixed plants in Alpena and Hillman, Mich. The deal was announced concurrent with SRM Materials’ acquisition of Tri-County Stone Co. in Morrison, Tenn., a transaction synergistic to the producer’s Cowan and Woodbury, Tenn. quarries.
“We are excited to bring the Sidley team onboard [and] look forward to strengthening our customer service capabilities in the northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania markets with our new team of experienced operators,” says SRM CEO Jeff Hollingshead. Specific to Cheboygan Cement and Tri-County, he adds, “We’ve been servicing the northern Michigan market for several years now, and are looking forward to strengthening our service capabilities with the great [Cheboygan Cement] team. [Tri-County] marks the sixth site for SRM Materials in the state of Tennessee. The Materials division has grown to 23 sites across eight states specializing in limestone, river rock and sand products.”
