Viola Ready Mix recently started production of the largest fixed concrete plant in Canada: A twin-lane operation whose two 5-cubic meter twin shaft mixers rapidly charge trucks in two cycles—central mixed or, in pass-through mode, transit mixed. The Markham, Ontario plant rounds out the producer’s Greater Toronto Market coverage, joining existing sites in North York and Brampton and placing ready mixed production capacity up and down or across the Highway 400, 404, 407 and 427 corridors. Viola Ready Mix worked with MCT Group to confine the eight-silo, bucket elevator-equipped plant to an efficient footprint on a 14-acre site with concrete and asphalt production. A full report on Canada’s Largest Workhorse is posted here, headlining Concrete Products’ December edition.
