From the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association … Just-released U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics 2018 workplace injury and illness data show a ready mixed concrete industry incident rate of 3.9 in 2018, unchanged from the prior year. Over the past decade, the injury- or illness-rooted lost work time benchmark among producers has ranged from the 2017-18 lows to 6.3 in 2014.

A definitive agreement with Aggregate Industries, centered on ready mixed production and fleet assets at 14 Meyer Material Co. sites, has netted Ozinga Bros. an expanded footprint across seven northern Illinois counties. Effective late last month, it transfers concrete plant operation and delivery to Ozinga Ready Mix Concrete, while Aggregate Industries/Meyer maintains six aligned sand & gravel properties.

One of two U.S. Concrete platform businesses in the Lone Star State, Ingram Concrete LLC has acquired the ready mixed production assets of T&S Ventures LLC, based in Sweetwater, Texas. The deal was announced five weeks after Ingram Concrete closed on the assets of Young Ready-Mix Inc., a single-plant, Brady, Texas operator.
