Tendon Systems promotes post tensioning methods for slabs on grade.

Commercial Metals, the top supplier of concrete rebar in the U.S., has acquired Tendon Systems LLC, a leading Southeast player in post-tensioning, barrier cable, and concrete restoration solutions. Tendon Systems’ products and services are used in slabs on grade, parking structures, plus multi-family residential, industrial and high-rise buildings. The Suwanee, Ga. company’s primary offering, post-tension cable, is used in conjunction with rebar in most applications, affording CMC synergy opportunities. Tendon Systems reported 2022 revenues upward of $60 million.

“This acquisition further advances our leadership in construction reinforcement, complements our existing position in post-tensioning cable, and provides additional capabilities to serve customers,” says CMC Chairman and CEO Barbara Smith. “Tendon Systems adds valuable expertise, innovative products, and a trusted reputation to our portfolio.”
