The National Precast Concrete Association Quality Assurance/Quality Control Committee has finalized the 14th Edition of the NPCA Quality Control Manual for Precast Concrete Plants, posted here. The new version outlines flexibility in educating staff members outside the quality control department as part of an overall commitment to continuous improvement; and, recognition of compressive strength testing and companion rational design calculations as an alterative to three-edge bearing testing results per ASTM C497—subject to agency or specifier approval. The manual is a principal tool in the NPCA Plant Certification program.
