Officers of major concrete, cement and aggregate producer associations are prepared to challenge the technical and economic merits of measures at the heart of OSHA’s public hearings for Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Occupational Exposure to Respirable Crystalline Silica.
Hearings continue through April 4 at the Department of Labor headquarters in Washington, D.C., with scheduled presenters to include: American Road and Transportation Builders Association’s Una Connolly and National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association’ Pamela Whitted (March 27); Mason Contractors Association of America’s Rashod Johnson, National Concrete Masonry Association President Robert Thomas, and Concrete Sawing and Drilling Association’s Patrick O’Brien (March 31); and, Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute Executive Director Charles McGrath, National Ready Mixed Concrete Association President Robert Garbini, Portland Cement Association’s Thomas Harman, and Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute President James Toscas (April 4).
