Schwing America has introduced the S 43 SX concrete pump for 2012—the 16th model in the company’s boom line. The S 43 SX utilizes the exclusive RZ boom design with five-section versatility and 918-degrees of total articulation. The model combines the best features of two boom types—Roll and Fold, and Z. By putting the 270-degree Z-fold at the tip section, operators have unprecedented boom maneuverability while placing concrete up to 138-ft. 8-in. vertically and 125-ft. horizontally. An added benefit of the five-section boom is a compact travel position. With a slewing range of 740 degrees, the 43 SX adapts to many job site requirements, while full 5-in. pipeline minimizes wear.
The new machine incorporates Schwing’s exclusive Super X Outriggers that set-up fast and provide a compact and stable platform for pumping. These curved front outriggers telescope out and around obstacles without extending past the truck’s front bumper allowing placement of the pump as close to the pour area as possible. The S 43 SX only requires a 27-ft. 3-in. outrigger spread (same front and rear) for exceptional stability. With low unfolding height of 28 ft. 6 in., the new model also offers versatility in low overhead situations. A 160-gallon water tank provides self-sufficiency for clean-up at the yard or on the job site.
The Standard Schwing Vector Control system is the only system that can match the versatility of the RZ boom. Twin joysticks provide proportional boom control for pin-point accuracy. In addition, Vector is also the only system providing two-way communication between the pump and operator. An LED display on the remote box informs the operator of operational conditions, including: hydraulic pressure; PTO rpm; strokes per minute; hydraulic oil temperature; and, hopper grate status. The Vector System also records critical data that tracks yards per hour to more accurately schedule maintenance and extend machine life.
The Generation 3 concrete pump is the low-maintenance, 213-cu. yd./hour, long-lasting, high performance 2525-6 unit that provides long slow-stroking action. The all-hydraulic design utilizes the Schwing Big Rock Valve, promoting maximum filling efficiency of the material cylinders even with harsh mixes.
