In anticipation of the 2011 International Concrete Sustainability Conference, scheduled for August 9-11, NRMCA is calling for abstracts from researchers, academics, and concrete industry professionals, including engineers, architects, contractors, concrete producers, public works officials, and material suppliers.

Suggested presentation topics include latest sustainability-enhancing developments in concrete design, specification, production, testing, construction, maintenance and research. Of particular interest are low-impact development, urban heat-island reduction, carbon and energy footprint, life-cycle assessment, green concrete, recycled materials, performance-based concrete, and government and private initiatives. Abstracts can be submitted online at www.SustainabilityConf.org by January 31, 2011.

The sixth annual conference will be staged in Cambridge, Mass., at the Hyatt Regency and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus. It is being held in conjunction with the MIT Concrete Sustainability Hub 2011 Industry Day, scheduled for August 11. Registrants and speakers at the Concrete Sustainability Conference can attend both events. More information can be obtained from NRMCA’s Lionel Lemay, 847/918-7101; [email protected].
