The industry’s first and only available heated water valve and manifold system for front-discharge trucks addresses the problem of frozen water hoses and fittings when operating in cold temperatures. It turns on and off automatically with the use of the cab heater and uses engine coolant to warm the on-board system that supplies water for mix and to wash down the truck.
The company also cites an exclusive among front-discharge mixer brands: a Total Control System, which includes in a single joystick operation of the drum start/stop, material charge/discharge, main chute up/down and left/right, and fold/unfold of the optional hydraulic folding chutes. Today’s electric-over-hydraulic system features a transmission selector to control truck movement once on site and environmentally sealed external controls designed to provide long-term durability.
A new lift-axle control system for Terex front-discharge mixers delivers what company engineers note are faster raise and lower times and tight control regulation of auxiliary axles. The controls reduce the number of valves and fittings to substantially increase system performance, reliability and serviceability. The new poppet-type valve construction seals out dirt, moisture and oil to better withstand harsh operating environments.
An improved air system design on the front-discharge mixers delivers air flow with lower pressure drop than previous configurations. Manifolds and potential leak points have been eliminated to deliver more reliable performance. In addition, a new front-discharge instrument package in the operator’s compartment provides more accurate slump gauge readings and seals the gauges for easier viewing and longer life.
Separate from the FD line, Terex offers inside the cab of its rear-discharge ready-mixed trucks a new retractable control station for additional floor space to enhance operating ergonomics. The station moves out of the way when not in use, and it offers improved compatibility with standard shift transmission mixers. A retrofit option is available for existing trucks.
A new hydraulic chute swing option for rear-discharge mixers affords operators the ability to hydraulically control chute movement from the cab or rear of the truck, while retaining its manual swing capabilities. Twin cylinders with an internal relief system protect the chute and components from damage should they come in contact with an obstruction. The chute’s enhanced, nonobtrusive gear box design reduces infiltration of debris, chemicals, moisture and rocks for more reliable service life.
