High-density polyethylene pipe market leader ADS has closed on Pineville, N.C.-based precast producer Piedmont Concrete, which provides utility contractors underground structures for public and private work. The transaction is the second in as many months where ADS is extending its reach into rigid structures, following the early-April acquisition of Winston-Salem’s Foltz Concrete Pipe Co.
“This is another step in our desire to be a full service supplier to the underground utility market,” says ADS Chairman Joe Chlapaty. We continue to look for companies with an excellent reputation and superior, innovative products such as Piedmont.” The ability to deliver a full range of reinforced concrete or HDPE pipe, along with precast concrete or composite structures, he adds, benefits contractors. The addition of concrete structures to the ADS product line is supported by the company’s engineering and sales staff, who work with customers to design effective drainage systems.
