Specifically, submissions detailing Notable Concrete in Chicago and Vicinity are sought by ACI Committee 124 – Concrete Aesthetics, ACI Illinois Chapter, and AIA Chicago Chapter for the spring event, Mar. 21-25. Participants are invited to submit photos and brief descriptions of notable concrete structures in and around the vicinity of Chicago–including cast-in-place, precast, post-tensioned, fiber-reinforced polymer, masonry, tilt-up projects–along with contact name(s) and information to Michael Paul at [email protected] no later than Dec. 1, 2009.
Corrosion-Resistant Reinforcement Ò Current Performance and Alternative Materials is the title of a technical session to be offered during the ACI Fall 2010 Convention, Oct. 24-28, for which ACI Committee 222-Corrosion of Metals in Concrete now seeks papers. Participants are invited to submit abstracts (up to 250 words) addressing field and laboratory studies on performance of current and future reinforcing bars to elucidate the advantages and disadvantages of specific materials and study methods.
