Technologies aimed at reducing carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions proved a common thread for material, product and equipment introductions at World of Concrete 2009, Feb. 2-5, in Las Vegas. The quest to reduce CO2 and NOx emissions tied to concrete mix designs, production and delivery coincides with fixed or anticipated regulatory mandates surrounding the two compounds, plus concrete practitionersÌ proactive measures to satisfy more stringent environmental criteria of project designers and owners. Seemingly lower producer and contractor attendance compared to that of record 2007-08 shows (75,000-plus attendees) did not hamper the volume of innovations exhibitors rolled out at World of Concrete 2009.
