Americast has acquired Mack IndustriesÌ Martinsburg, W.Va., precast operation, enabling the buyer to vacate a nearby plant on property the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has eyed for a Customs and Border Patrol Training facility expansion. The Martinsburg facility will allow us to continue business without disrupting our customers or employees, affirms Americast President Bill Tichacek.
Occupying land about which the federal government first approached him in January 2006, he adds, Americast’s Halltown, W.Va., plant is 20 miles from the Martinsburg site. Both facilities specialize in drainage and underground precast for West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland markets. Beyond Martinsburg, Brunswick, Ohio-based Mack Industries has precast operations in its home state, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.
