BAGHOUSE DUST COLLECTION
The launch of Torit PowerCore dust collectors with PowerCore filter packs solves a growing need for better filtration, reduced operational cost, and greater flexibility in baghouse dust collection, the manufacturer affirms. An extension of its patented PowerCore technology used in engine filtration, the company adds, Torit PowerCore dust collectors are smaller, yet more effective than traditional baghouses technologies.
Reportedly field tested with excellent results in major wood, cement, and plastics manufacturing operations for more than a year, full-scale collectors are now available in stand-alone and bin vent configurations. Product developers explain that PowerCore filter packs deliver better dust filtration by combining patented Ultra-Web surface-loading technology with a fluted-media design that allows more media in a small volume. Capturing both large and small dust particles, filter packs with Ultra-Web have been shown in independent lab tests, using EPA PM 2.5 standards, to provide up to 78 percent fewer emissions than traditional bags.
Besides ensuring cleaner air and greater product recovery, the filter pack’s fluted structure is said by the manufacturer to extend filter life and eliminate bridging problems commonly encountered with agglomerative materials.
