Pittsburgh-based L.B. Foster Co. has named Kevin Haugh vice president & general manager-Concrete Products and president, CXT Inc., a wholly owned Foster subsidiary. He will direct the CXT Concrete Buildings and CXT Concrete Ties businesses. Comprising facilities in Spokane (Wash.), Grand Island (Neb.), and Tucson (Ariz.), CXT Concrete Ties supplies engineered, prestressed concrete ties for Class 1 regional/shortline, industrial, and passenger/commuter railroads across North America. CXT Concrete Buildings is a producer Û largely for federal, state and local government agencies and contractors Û of precast restrooms and utility structures, supplied by two plants in Spokane and Hillsboro (Texas).
Haugh’s operations and management career in the railroad industry began in 1977 with Union Pacific Railroad Co.; included a term at Midwest Railroad Construction as executive vice president from 1989 to 1993; an executive vice president-Marketing & Sales position at Rail Switching Services, Inc. (later Railserve Cos.) before his promotion to company president in 2001; and, a subsequent stint as executive vice president and chief commercial officer with CANAC, instrumental in guiding its technology offerings to market leadership among Class 1 railroads.
