High Concrete Innovations, LLC hosted a tour of its Lebanon, Pa., facility Û the only all-indoor precasting plant in the U.S. Û in October. Announcing the event, Plant Manager Brett Anderson said, Anyone interested in learning about the manufacture of precast architectural panels is welcome. We’re proud of our employees and safe and robust operations, and to be a part of the High Companies, a Lancaster-based organization celebrating its 75th year.
One of five plant locations within the High Concrete Group, High Concrete Innovations began operations in the former Alcoa facility in 2005. The company continues to hire new employees as it meets increasing demand for CarbonCast architectural cladding and insulated wall panels for projects in New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and the entire mid-Atlantic region. Recently, the Lebanon facility produced CarbonCast walls for construction of a new 200,000-sq.-foot, highly secure hangar at the U.S. Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, Md., housing the fleet of presidential helicopters known as Marine One.
CarbonCast is a carbon-fiber-grid-reinforced concrete that can be used in lieu of heavier, conventional (steel-reinforced) concrete. High Concrete Group helped develop and patent the material, valued in the commercial construction industry as a lightweight, super-insulating, aesthetically appealing and versatile material, company officials note.
