Four new retail facilities in Kansas, Wisconsin and Minnesota will incorporate precast wall panels manufactured by Savage, Minn.-based Fabcon. Nebraska Furniture Mart, Tangers Mall and two new Target stores will feature the producer’s patented, lightweight VersaCore Plus wall panels.
Construction began in late December on an addition to Kansas City’s Nebraska Furniture Mart for which Fabcon was selected to supply and install more than 103,000 square feet of VersaCore Plus precast panels. In the tourist area of Wisconsin Dells, Tangers Mall will include more than 71,000 square feet of the Fabcon units; panel erection for the new Lake Delton, Wis., shopping center began also in December.
Target’s newest stores at Knollwood in St. Louis Park and Fridley, Minn., will use approximately 116,000 combined square feet of VersaCore Plus. Panel erection was slated to begin late February in St. Louis Park and early March in Fridley. The Minnesota stores comprise two of Fabcon’s 16 projects currently in progress for Target.
Fabcon emphasizes that its precast wall panels deliver premium thermal efficiency, structural integrity, and design flexibility. In addition, VersaCore Plus panels are said to provide the benefits of low shipping costs and the ability to cast window and door openings during the precast process. Customers can choose from a wide range of standard and custom finish options, as well as a variety of aggregate designs to help create a distinctive appearance for commercial construction projects.
