Unit masonry top gun Oldcastle Architectural has significantly expanded its range of Belgard Hardscapes products and services to contractors throughout Florida with the acquisition of Hanson Hardscapes, a division of Hanson Building Products North America. The nine-plant transaction spans operations in Haines City, Lehigh Acres and Pompano Beach—strategically extending Belgard’s geographic footprint and capacity to the Sunshine State’s southeast and southwest coastal communities—plus strong positions in Ontario and Michigan.

The Charles Pankow Foundation (CPF) has appointed a new chief, Mark Perniconi, P.E., successor to Robert Tener, Ph.D., P.E., who retired in May after nearly seven years in the post.

In a recently released statement, Besser President & CEO Kevin Curtis announced the company’s plan to restructure the manufacturing of its Besser GmbH product lines OMAG, Kraft Energy and Messman in Emden, Germany, to its current facilities in the United States. The transition is expected to be complete by the end of 2013.

PCA recognized Cemex Executive Vice President Frank Craddock as the winner of the 2012 John P. Gleason, Jr., Leadership Award. Presented at association’s recent annual fall committee meeting in Chicago, the award honors employees of member companies who have exhibited industry leadership by taking the PCA in new directions. Awards are presented in two categories of key strategic initiatives: Business Continuity and Market Development, the category in which Craddock was honored.

PCA announced management changes designed to shift leadership to Washington, D.C., in support of a renewed emphasis on national advocacy efforts in our nation’s capitol. Effective September 6, Greg Scott, PCA’s senior vice president of government affairs, is promoted to president. He will report to Brian McCarthy, PCA’s current president/CEO based in Skokie, who will remain with PCA until year-end as CEO.
