The big block wet cast segmental retaining wall system from Salt Lake City-based Verti-Crete features a 5-in. deep textured stone face on a standard block size of 2 ft. x 4 ft. with a depth of 3 feet.Deeper blocks are available for gravity walls that are over 20 feet tall. Each block is designed with an open core that facilitates drainage to reduce hydrostatic pressure and to cut material and transportation costs. In fact, company officials note that Verti-Blocks use about 50 percent of the concrete of a comparable size solid concrete block.
