NCMA and ICPI honor 142 plants in their 2016 Safety Awards Program, recognizing members who demonstrate exemplary accident prevention and worker protection. Eligibility is based on the lowest number of or no reportable injuries as documented by OSHA 300A logs (or equivalent Canadian injury reports) for the calendar year.

“The members of NCMA and ICPI are committed to the highest levels of workplace safety,” says NCMA President Robert Thomas. “This commitment is demonstrated by the number of safety awards given this year, and it is a testament to our industry that our members place a high importance in practicing safe manufacturing processes.”

“Safety is good business and, more importantly, excellent for employee morale,” adds ICPI Executive Director Charles McGrath. “These awards recognize both aspects required to run successful [concrete block and paver] companies.”

NCMA/ICPI Safety Award categories are Milestone (no recordable injuries for five or more consecutive years); Platinum (no recordable injuries for the year); Gold (incidence rate less than 1); and, Silver (incidence rate less than 2).
