Already a major player in West Coast architectural and structural precast solutions, Clark Pacific has closed on the California assets of Hanson Structural Precast, including a flagship plant in Irwindale and 80-acre industrial-zoned site in Adelanto.

A Los Angeles County fixture since 1968, the former adds a second southern California plant for Clark Pacific, alongside a Fullerton operation near Los Angeles, plus West Sacramento and Woodland operations in northern California. The acquisition boosts the company’s overall capacity and significantly enhances its structural precast offerings for the southern California and Nevada construction markets, particularly for parking structures and office buildings.

“[It] will allow our firm to expand our structural solutions offerings and continue to provide customers with the excellent quality products and reliable professional services they have come to expect over the years from Clark Pacific and the Irwindale plant,” says Clark Pacific President of Operations Bob Clark. “We are particularly pleased to welcome current Irwindale personnel to the Clark Pacific team as we expand our services to designers, owners, and builders.”

“We believe this is a win-win-win solution for the California construction industry,” affirms Clark Pacific President of Business Development Don Clark. “Clark Pacific will now be able to offer cost-effective structural solutions for our southern California clients, including our All-in-One, architecturally finished structural solutions, as well as leading-edge precast seismic technologies, such as the Precast Hybrid Moment Frame, that offer owners enhanced asset protection.”

“There are great advantages to being part of a firm that is 100 percent dedicated to producing best-of-class architectural and structural precast concrete. I believe this will be a huge benefit for our customers for many years to come,” adds Ed Wopschall, former Irwindale plant general manager, who is returning to oversee the operation for Clark Pacific and extend a 40-year tenure at the site.

Clark Pacific’s expansion comes at a time when many new projects are in the production pipeline. The producer recently secured the precast concrete components contract for the fast-tracked stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., to become the new home of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers, beginning with the 2014 season. The company is also providing architectural precast concrete for the new Stanford Hospital, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, LA Live Marriott, and San Bernardino County Courthouse.
