Data from the past 12 months culled by onboard Drive Cam technology developer Lytx finds truck drivers encountering the highest rate of collisions on Thursdays and, in year-over-year terms, reducing rates of drowsy driving but increasing instances of cell phone use and failure to wear seat belts.

Lehigh Hanson Inc. and trucking partners are testing a cloud-based, Trelar Logistics platform in central California, Phoenix and Seattle to measure improved fleet utilization, plus aggregate delivery booking and scheduling metrics. A vocational vehicle marketplace, Trelar connects dump truck owners, sand & gravel and stone producers, plus contractors via an application programmed to increase order and routing transparency; reduce delays; and, provide tracking, real-time data and automated payments.
