Astec Industries has closed on Blair, Neb.-based Concrete Equipment Co., adding the mainstay batch plant manufacturer to an Infrastructure Solutions group portfolio that includes peer operator Rexcon LLC. The business was acquired from Wisconsin-based Oshkosh Corp., where Con-E-Co had served since 2005 as a plant equipment companion to namesake and McNeilus front and rear discharge mixer truck offerings.

Charah LLC has opened a fly ash storage terminal in Kelim, Colo., north of Denver, in partnership with Great Western Railway of Colorado operator and rail-to-truck transloading services provider OmniTRAX. Astec steps up concrete batch plant presence in RexCon deal

Astec has acquired the assets of concrete batch plant manufacturer RexCon LLC, Burlington, Wis., in a $26 million cash transaction. A key player in central mixed equipment, RexCon becomes a sister operation of Albuquerque, N.M.-based CEI Enterprises, which has built a transit mixed equipment line under the Fusion banner.
