Backed by PCI, the Canadian Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute and National Precast Concrete Association, the North American Precast Concrete Sustainable Plant Program (NAPCSPP) has yielded its first full-year energy, materials and transportation data benchmarks. PCI’s 2015 Sustainable Plant Program Performance Report presents results in carbon dioxide equivalent (global warming potential), total primary energy and water consumption categories based on data from 34 structural and architectural precast/prestressed producers.

Roller-compacted concrete (RCC), followed by diamond grinding to smooth the surface, is the smart choice for rebuilding rural roads damaged by energy development truck traffic in Arkansas, according to new research presented at the 93rd annual meeting of the Transportation Research Board earlier this year in Washington, D.C.
Chief among innovations at this year’s World of Concrete in Las Vegas and The Precast Show in Houston was a new generation of extruding equipment that represents a significant step forward for prestressed hollow-core slab flooring production.
