National Ready Mixed Concrete Association 2016 ConcreteWorks attendees were afforded the first formal showing of the successor to the Kenworth W900S, a longstanding model for mixer trucks running in bridge formula markets. The T880 Set-Forward Front Axle (T880S) was previewed September 18-20 in Nashville and will be among the manufacturer’s 2017 World of Concrete and ConExpo-Con/Agg headline offerings.

AEM salutes safety materials promotion

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers has announced the winners of a promotion raising awareness for the AEM industry-consensus safety materials program, conducted as part of outreach from its ConExpo-Con/Agg and AED Summit & Condex booths. Hundreds of attendees registered to receive iPads and iTunes gift cards to download AEM safety manual eBooks. The winners are John Mason, assistant director of construction training, International Union of Operating Engineers in Washington, D.C., and Tom Viskniskki, vice president sales, Sullivan-Palatek Compressors in Michigan City, Ind.

AEM backs Better Highways campaign with Washington, D.C. fly-in credit

Through I Make America, the Association of Equipment Manufacturers is launching an initiative to encourage members and the construction industry’s hardworking ranks to fly-in to Washington, D.C., and support a new federal highway bill. Individuals who attended ConExpo-Con/Agg 2014 may be eligible to receive $500 for travel expenses to attend an industry-associated “fly-in” to meet with federal lawmakers and regulators to advocate for funding of highways, roads, and bridges. For those individuals who do not claim their reimbursement, AEM will contribute $500 on their behalf to benefit wounded warriors.
