Charah, the largest privately-held coal combustion products management operator in the U.S., and VSHC Holdings LLC, The Woodlands, Texas-based cementitious materials processor, will market fly ash from NRG Limestone, a generating station with upwards of 500,000 tons per year output. A long-term agreement to manage and market coal combustion products (CCP) from Dynegy Inc. generating stations in Moscow (Zimmer Power) and North Bend (Miami Fort), Ohio, enables Charah to ship Class F fly ash by truck or rail to Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Pennsylvania ready mixed and manufactured-concrete producers. The CCP management specialist will also market the stations’ bottom ash and contract for other material handling at each.

Charah contracts extend C618-Grade ash options for midwest producers

Coal combustion products (CCP) management specialist Charah Inc. has entered into or renewed agreements involving three Louisville Gas & Electric Co. and Kentucky Utilities Co. facilities: Mill Creek Generating Station in Jefferson County, Trimble County Generating Station, and Ghent Generating Station near Carrollton, Ky. The Louisville-based operator expects to market the stations’ fly ash to ready mixed producers throughout the Midwest, providing them multiple supply options of high quality, ASTM C618 Class F product.
