Charah LLC, Louisville, Ky., will raise Class F fly ash supply capabilities to Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky concrete and cement producers through an exclusive agreement to market coal combustion products (CCP) from the Hoosier Energy Merom Generating Station in western Indiana. Martin Marietta Materials has named James A.J. Nickolas senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective this month. He succeeds the retiring Anne Lloyd, who will remain with the producer through September, capping a 12-year term as CFO. Nickolas most recently led the Caterpillar Inc. Corporate Development Group, following CFO tours of duty at the manufacturer’s Resources Industries segment and Global Mining division. Prior to Caterpillar, he was executive director of J.P. Morgan Securities.

Lanxess’ signature Bayferrox yellow, red and black pigments have been recertified for pre-consumer recycled iron oxide content from California-based SCS Global Services, a global leader in independent, third-party environmental certification, auditing, testing and standards development. Lanxess first achieved certification in 2014, and remains the only iron oxide pigments producer to hold such accreditation. SCS verified up to 92 percent recycled content in yellow, red and black Bayferrox iron oxide pigments. Specifying them with SCS certification for coloring concrete or other materials used in buildings allows project teams to factor the pigments when calculating a project’s overall recycled content volume.
