Milwaukee-based Scott Campbell, Ph.D., P.E. is the newest National Ready Mixed Concrete Association Building Promotion team member. As senior vice president of Structures and Codes, he will join colleagues in advancing industry interests through model codes and technical standards, and support state and local advocacy efforts. He will work closely with engineers and architects, code advocates, and legislative specialists to offer technically correct code-related solutions that maintain public safety and increase building resilience. Campbell holds Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley. He moves to NRMCA from Portland Cement Association, where he served as director of Code Technology.

American Shotcrete Association Executive Director Charles Hanskat has been elected 2019 chair of the ACI Foundation Strategic Development Council, a broad-based group of material interests and downstream allies dedicated to accelerating technology transfer and commercialization in concrete practice. Hanskat has been involved in the design, construction, and evaluation of environmental concrete and shotcrete structures for 40-plus years. He is active in ACI Technical Activities, 301 Specifications, 506 Shotcrete, and 350 Environmental Structures Committees, plus the SDC Technology Management Committee, Technology Transfer Advisory Group, Strategic Repair Research Council, and Vision 2020 Initiative.

The Concrete Industry Management Program’s National Steering Committee grossed more than $925,000 at its annual auction, held in conjunction with the World of Concrete 2016. “[It] surpassed our highest gross proceeds total ever,” affirms Auction Committee Chairman Mike Philipps (Cemex USA). “We had a record in terms of the value of donated items and attendees that helped make this year’s event a tremendous success.”
