Weeks before a scheduled spin-off of its North American materials and products operations under the Amrize banner, Holcim Ltd. has closed on British Columbia-based Langley Concrete Group Inc. The deal marks the producer’s entry into the precast concrete market in the province, strengthens its footprint in the rapidly growing infrastructure sector, and complements a long-standing Lafarge Canada pipe & precast business in Calgary. Langley Group’s Chilliwack and Duncan facilities are equipped for a wide range of above-grade or underground dry- or wet-cast concrete structures and products.

Langley Group is a key concrete pipe and box culvert source for agency, commercial and industrial projects in western Canada.

“This acquisition is a natural extension of our growth strategy,” says Holcim Region Head, North America Jaime Hill, who is on track to transition to the post of Amrize Building Products president. “By combining Langley Concrete Group’s technical capabilities with our operations, we are better positioned than ever to deliver enhanced value to our customers through expanded reach, service, and a strong portfolio of advanced, high-quality products.”

“We’re proud of the 75-year family business legacy we’ve built, and confident that Holcim is the right partner to carry it forward as growth opportunities continue in British Columbia,” adds Langley Group President and past (2018) American Concrete Pipe Association Chairman Mark Omelaniec. “This transition brings long-term opportunity for our team and customers, all while building on the quality and service standards that define who we are.”
