American Concrete Institute-aligned NEU has launched a third-party validation or verification service providing impartial assessment of environmental claims for technologies focused on reduced-carbon cement, concrete and related construction solutions. It follows internationally accepted ISO standards to determine future outcome validation or historical data verification. A NEU team of subject matter experts assesses the reasonableness, methods, and results of environmental claims without involving product certification or ongoing compliance inspections. The process can ultimately produce either a Validation Statement, which supports claims for future outcomes, or a Verification Statement, which confirms the accuracy of historical claims.

“The Validation/Verification Program is an essential step forward for manufacturers and technology developers who want to establish credibility, verify environmental performance, and meet growing industry demands for transparency and accountability,” says NEU Executive Director Dean Frank, P.E.

Suppliers, manufacturers and developers can begin the validation or verification process by completing the application posted here. NEU Validation Director Mahmut Ekenel, PhD, PE, FACI provides additional perspective on the program in an on-demand webinar posted here.
