At 54 lbs. per 1-sq.-ft. block, the newest addition to Atlanta-based Oldcastle APG’s Belgard residential and commercial concrete retaining wall offerings affords shipping efficiencies by enabling legal truck loads bearing up to 25 percent more product than conventional units. The Diamond Pro Air series suits gravity walls up to 40 inches or geogrid reinforced retaining walls up to 12 feet. Their innovative front lug design yields a 9/16-in. per unit setback, creating a consistent 4-degree batter for a near-vertical, professional finish. The series spans a variety of block sizes and face styles in Buff, Gray or Toccoa colors.
Diamond Pro Air units’ potential for curves and maximizing land use are reflected in a minimum outside radius of a mere 4 feet on the top course and near-vertical batter.

GARDENSCAPE PACKAGING
Concurrent with the Belgard Diamond Pro Air unveiling, Oldcastle APG acquired Archbold, Ohio and Emlenton, Pa. bagging facilities from mulch and soil wholesale supplier Gardenscape. The deal complements recent Lawn & Garden bolt-on businesses in Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Mountain West regions.

EVERSTRONG FENCE AND RAIL BUSINESS BOLT-ON
Beyond its concrete block, hardscapes and packaged materials operations, Oldcastle APG has acquired two EverStrong Profiles vinyl fence and rail manufacturing facilities from Eastern Wholesale Fence. The deal expands the producer’s geographical footprint and capabilities on the Eastern Seaboard while adding to a growing fence, rail and deck portfolio. With extrusion operations in Calverton, N.Y., and Salisbury, N.C., EverStrong Profiles manufactures a diverse collection of vinyl fencing and railing to suit customer design needs and meet customized specifications. Moving forward, Oldcastle APG will serve as the primary supplier of rail and fence profiles to Eastern Wholesale Fence’s distribution business, which is being retained by Center Rock Capital Partners.
