Chaney Enterprises, Stewart Cos. elevate Heritage Concrete

A new Chaney Enterprises and York Building Products partnership will strengthen the role of Wilmington-based Heritage Concrete as a Delaware ready mixed concrete market leader. A sister operation of York Building Products under the Stewart Companies in York, Pa., Heritage Concrete brings four concrete plants, while Maryland-based Chaney Enterprises contributes three. The combination will provide customers “decades of experience in supplying ready mixed concrete,” officials note, along with “great opportunities for the collective team members of the new Heritage Concrete.” Michael Petrillo will remain at the helm of the business, to operate as a Stewart and Chaney Company.

“This brings a great service network to our collective customers and continues our long-term construction material growth strategy,” says Chaney Enterprises CEO Francis Hall Chaney, III.

“This combination creates a strong platform for the future growth of Heritage Concrete,” adds Stewart Cos. CEO Dave Stewart.

WILLIAMS SAND ADDITION
Concurrent with the Stewart Cos. partnership, Chaney Enterprises has acquired Williams Sand & Clay, a family-owned business located in Eagle Springs, N.C. Under the leadership of Art Williams and his sons, Ben and Will, the company has built a reputation for providing washed concrete sand, ball field clay, fill dirt, topsoil, white river rock, and gravel in central North Carolina. The deal marks Chaney Enterprises’ continued growth in the Tar Heel State, adding a second aggregate location following the opening of Grifton Sand & Gravel in 2024.
